Salary benchmarking in Aotearoa
Help shape New Zealand’s advertising industry salary survey
Why a salary survey matters
At present, there is no comprehensive, shared salary benchmark for advertising, media and communications roles in New Zealand.
Comms Council is exploring the establishment of an annual industry salary survey to help agencies better understand remuneration trends, role benchmarks and workforce planning across disciplines and seniority levels.
What we’re proposing
Purpose
To gather anonymised salary data across advertising, media and communications roles to create a reliable, industry-wide benchmark.
Agency participation
Participating agencies would submit anonymised payroll data under strict confidentiality. Aggregate results would be shared with contributors.
Confidentiality
No individual, agency or personally identifiable data will be shared publicly — reported results would be aggregated to protect privacy.
What’s next
Once we gauge interest and participation, we’ll confirm scope, timing and expected publication dates.
Register interest in the survey
If your agency would like to contribute to and be notified about the development of a salary benchmarking survey, please register your interest below.
Contributions would help shape the survey scope, data collection and future benchmark reporting.
