The Commercial Communications Council (Comms Council) is pleased to announce that Angela Watson, CEO of Colenso BBDO, has been elected President of the Comms Council Board, replacing Rob Harvey, CEO Dentsu ANZ, who has stepped down after four years in the role.
Angela Watson has been a board member since 2021, and has been elected by the board to the role of President, effective immediately.
“Rob has done an amazing job as President – his conviction, generosity and belief in the value of the industry is contagious. I’m genuinely excited to step into the role – continuing to make progress where it’s needed most and spearheading the great work of the Comms Council on behalf of all of its members – as we enter a new frontier of change and possibility,” says Angela.
Rob Harvey was elected President in 2022, and says of his time, “when I stepped into the role, I said there were two areas where I wanted us to make meaningful progress: sustainability and diversity. I’m proud that together we launched Ad Net Zero and He Tāngata The People, and I’m confident these initiatives have set us up for sustained progress in these important areas.
“I’m delighted to be handing the baton to Angela, who I know will be an outstanding President and a powerful champion for our industry.”
