Comms Council & ANZA Release Open Letter to Global Advertising and Agency Community

Posted 26 March 2019.

On Monday 25 March 2019, ANZA and the Comms Council took the next step in their quest to inspire a global change from social media platforms in the wake of the Christchurch terror attack.

Given the lack of sufficient response, particularly from Facebook in the case of its live streaming functionality, both organisations have released a joint open letter asking for support from the global advertising and agency community.

As a global community that funds social media, we have a responsibility to ensure that social media platforms can no longer be used as a publishing mechanism for extremist propaganda or a live broadcaster of atrocities.
