CAANZ establishes Inclusiveness and Diversity Council
There has been a lot of discussion over the past few weeks on issues around diversity in our industry.
CAANZ understands that diversity and inclusiveness is a key concern for our industry (and others) and there has been discussion and work going on around this issue behind the scenes.
However the Board has agreed that it is time to harness these efforts and put a more comprehensive strategy and programme of activity in place.
As a result we are creating an Inclusiveness and Diversity Council to spearhead the charge on this issue. Whilst it’s early days yet, we expect the council will be action focused and provide the industry with meaningful assistance on diversity and inclusiveness.
The council is to be chaired by Louise Bond and the group will welcome feedback and input from members to take into consideration. They will also be tapping into specialists and leaders in the Inclusiveness and Diversity space to inform our approach. Many organisations have already done a lot of work in addressing the issue and we will also take their learning and best practices into account in developing our approach.
We recognise that these are sensitive and complex issues and we are committed to making progress in this area for the long term good of our industry and will keep you informed of progress.
