Warren Brown – Creative Founder

Warren has worked in advertising for over 30 years, twelve of them in some great UK agencies and the rest in Australia.

In the UK with the help of Paul Hogan he got the Poms to drink Fosters, then back in Australia he managed to get women who were tired and run down to eat Lean Beef.

He put Aussie Rules football on the world stage with “I’d like to see that” which slipped into the Aussie vernacular in 24 hours and stayed there.

He created the world’s most successful anti-smoking campaign running in over 50 countries and featured human body parts, such as squeezed arteries.

Using another body part he changed beer advertising in Australia with a wandering tongue. Then with a bunch of XXXX Gold guzzling mates he turned a regional brand into the No.1 beer in the country.

He turned Australia Day into a day to put some Lamb on the barbie, celebrate our great nation with family and friends and put an end to unAustralianism.

BMF, the agency he co-founded in 1996 with no clients, was awarded ‘Agency of the Decade’ in 2009 and has also won multiple Agency of the Year awards.

Warren has also represented Australia at Cannes and D&AD as Jury President and as a juror several times. He has also chaired many other shows in Australia and overseas.

He has won hundreds of awards from all the major shows and his work has appeared in many books on Advertising.

Warren also likes cars and is Executive producer of the show CarTorque.

John Merrifield - Chief Creative Officer

Having failed to enable his surfing to finance an enviable lifestyle, John emerged in Singapore, where an initial foray into adland was marked by six years at Batey Ads. Seven years at Saatchi’s followed, a highlight of which was getting the entire Tokyo office arrested. With time off for bad behaviour (read: eight months surfing) he joined TBWA, where his work for adidas - Vertical Football, Impossible Sprint, et al – soon earned worldwide acclaim.

After another year off surfing in Hawaii and Bali, John joined Google in late 2012 as Chief Creative Officer, Asia-Pacific. Based in Singapore, he leads a team that’s hubbed in Singapore, Tokyo and Sydney.

John has won multiple gold lions at Cannes, multiple gold pencils at the One Show, the grand prix and multiple golds at the Clios, best of show (twice) and multiple golds at AdFest, multiple golds at Spikes Asia, multiple golds at AWARD, the ADC prize (gold) in Tokyo, multiple acceptances in D&AD, Communication Arts and The Work book.

He was named Asia’s Creative of the Year in 2004 and 2008 (the only person to win it twice). He topped the Creative Rankings in Asia/Pacific in 2004. He’s been asked to judge and speak at pretty much every major award show on the planet.

He’d give it all back for more time in the water.
